Adding a medicine

Understanding the fields
Generic Name is the scientific name (e.g. Paracetamol for Panadol). Min Stock is the quantity at which you want a low stock alert — set it to your typical weekly usage. Batch Number comes from the medicine packaging and is used for expiry tracking. Purchase Price is what you paid the supplier. Sale Price is what you charge the patient.
Searching and filtering
Use the search box to find medicines by name or generic name. Use the category filter to show only a specific drug class. Use the status filter to show medicines that are expiring soon, already expired or below minimum stock.
Medicine substitutes
Open any medicine and click Link Substitutes. Select alternative medicines from your inventory. When you create a bill and a medicine is out of stock, the system automatically shows these substitutes so you can offer the patient an alternative.
Real-time stock updates
When a pharmacist creates a bill, the stock numbers on your Medicines page update instantly without a page refresh. If stock drops below the minimum, a low stock notification appears in the notification bell immediately.
