Order, track, and report lab tests with critical value alerts
Overview
Lab test orders flow from Ordered → Sample Collected → Processing → Result Entered. When a result is flagged Critical, a real-time Socket.io alert fires to every logged-in device. Results auto-appear in the patient's EMR timeline.
Standard Operating Workflow
Order Test
Select patient, test type (CBC, LFT, HbA1c etc.), priority (Routine/Urgent/STAT), ordering doctor, and lab.
Track Progress
Status updates: Sample Collected → Processing → Result Entered.
Enter Result
Lab technician enters values with interpretation: Normal / Abnormal / Critical. Flag critical values.
Critical Alert
If Critical: Socket.io alert fires instantly to all logged-in devices. Doctor sees pop-up with patient name and critical value.
PDF Report
Result auto-links to patient EMR. PDF report generated and shareable.
