Add Prescribed Medicines

You can search for an item in inventory using Quick-add from inventory, or enter a medicine name in a prescription row. Use Add Row to add more medicines.

For each medicine, review:

  • Medicine Name
  • Dosage: Amount taken at one time.
  • Frequency: How often it is taken.
  • Duration: How long it is taken.
  • Total Qty to Dispense: Total units for the prescription.
  • Route: How it is taken or applied, such as oral, topical, injection, inhaled, or drops.
  • Instructions: Extra directions, if any.

Convert to Invoice

For an Active prescription, select Convert to Invoice if you need to create a bill from it. The app asks you to confirm because conversion deducts stock.

Warning:Only medicines linked to inventory records with enough stock can be added to the invoice. Medicines entered as free text, or linked items without sufficient stock, may be skipped. Review the resulting invoice and linked medicines carefully.

After a successful conversion, the prescription is marked Dispensed and its linked invoice number appears in the list or prescription details.

Note:The generated invoice is initially unpaid. Record payment separately from Billing & Invoices.

Cancel a Prescription

For an Active prescription, select Cancel and confirm. Cancelled prescriptions cannot be converted through the normal action on this page.

Warning:If you find an error, the current page does not show an edit action; follow your organization’s correction process before cancelling and creating a replacement.

Keep Records Accurate

  • Confirm the selected location and patient before creating a prescription.
  • Verify the prescriber’s name and all medicine instructions.
  • Check the validity date before printing or using the prescription.
  • Treat prescription PDFs and patient details as private records.
